Fact #1 Well~ waking up in a bad mood is always detrimental to ur health.
Fact #2 Having a tired body has negative effects on ur chances if u're going for an interview after a 1 hour car trip.
For some reasons for which i will not divulge here, at least for the moment, Uzuki woke up in a bad mood today~ ^_^ and today wasn't any ordinary day~ Today was the day Uzuki was supposed to go for an interview after an 1 hour car ride to penang~
Opening my eyes, my thoughts drifted to the events of the previous day~ Visions which i promptly shook off and proceeded to brew an extra song cup of coffee to ward off~ This however, was a bad move~ as apparently my stomach didn't agree to well with it. I ended up going to the toilet about three times. ^_^
Today, i was going to fight for a scholarship for a diploma course in games technology. By no means the most prestigious award known to man, but certainly one that would ease the financial burden on my family~ and also one that would help fulfill my dream of making games~ Anime lover and manga freak though Uzuki was, his first true love~ (excluding humans, of course) is games~ He loved it then, and he still loved it now. So I now choose to commit myself to choosing this games tchnology thing if i get it. (translation: If i get it, me family agrees and i pack, and i get marooned on campus with limited supplies XD)
But that~ well is the plan~ ^_^
confident though Uzuki is in his skills in charming interviewers, it doesn't hurt to take precautions~ (like a particular rubbery object~ u don't need it, but I'd rather have it and don't need it, than dont have it, and need it~ ^_^ ) On these grounds~ Uzuki's mum~ (happy mothers day mom! XD) has forced Uzuki to register in the national pre U stuff. Form 6.
^_^ not bad for a first day~ i wore extra formal clothes (i had to rush off for the interview afterwards) and i had sort of a publicity stunt. XD I filled in the registration form on an awkwardly placed table~in the middle of the stage~ i could feel all eyes in the hall on me~ and i think i got more attention than the person speaking at that particular moment.Pretty embarrasing~ Not a particularly comforting thought~ ^_^ but nothing the great Uzuki can't handle~ (given his thick skin~ XD)
after that, i was already tired~ probably because of my mood or what i dunno~ but i was already drowsy~ hehe~ ^_^ the waiting room for the college was cold~ brr~ even with my long sleeves, i was shiverin while my 'competitor' was just wearing a thin blouse and a skirt. -_- anyways~ the interview was okay~ they (other ppl) said it was very scary, but i got along fine~ the interviewers said if i were to get the scholarship~ i'd have to do some unpaid part-timing for them~ well~ all's well~ right? like i'm working for my studies~ no prob with that~The campus looked fine~ and i think its definitely better than the earlier deal (engineering)~ (but i was gonna ditch it anyways~ XD) so anwyays~ i left the place doing all i could, only thing left to do is to wait, and if im lucky, i'll be studying games technology by either june or august~ XD
correction: thats not the only thing left to do. Tomorrow, i'll be donning my old sec school uniforms and going off to have some "fun" in School~ hehehe~ (just to kill some time in form 6~ im really waiting for news from the scholarship. ) But that, i think~ is a story for another post altogether~ ^_^
ciao for now~
^_^ hope i survive tomorrow~

Logic is very troublesome, eh?
The Song of a manga character~
Tis' the story of a person,
who's neither real nor fake~
Born of ink and paper,
in a world coloured with screentones~
Where sounds have shape and colour,
and no solid rules apply~
This is where the plot thickens,
where impossible dreams take flight~
He entertains the masses,
often at the cost of his own misfortune~
At times he shows the courage,
and other traits we desire~
Subject to the whim and fancy,
of a temporary godlike entity~
Nevertheless,
By the end of the season,
He almost always pulls through~
His life span eternal,
long out-lives his creator~
Whose splendid imagination,
gave life to this manga character~
So on lives this person,
doing what he does best~
Making people laugh and cry,
until no one remembers why~
I once wrote this poem, posting it on a forum, griping about how manga characters seem to be tortured for the reader's enjoyment.. well, it seems for poor Uzuki, the tables have turned on the mangaka~
"He entertains the masses,
often at the cost of his own misfortune~" ^_^
so to all readers(actually just about 5 T_T), thanks for reading and posting helpful comments~ be sure to read it with all ur heart as I suffer for it~ XD
(nah~ just kidding~ XD )
Just as he thinks he's found salvation, reality strikes! with vengeance! (quote Michael Machel who played a mean star wars theme in Britains Got Talent- "I will be back, With vengeance!")
Though Uzuki (who is currently hallucinating about making a violent game based on TS and an Eroge with Mompuchi as the main character) has gotten an interview for this most coveted course which goes by the name of Games Technology, he is still not at ease and his mind is as confused as ever~
This is beacause now, all is in his reach, yet, he can only chose one to go 100%!
Uzuki's sticky situation can be summarised as follows-
Remember the phrase- "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush?"
In dear Uzuki's case, he has two in the hand, one a meter from him and one in the bush beyond reach~
He has obtained two scholarships (a full one for engineering and the other partial for art), is going to have an interview for a third (the games tech one) this coming Monday, and has submitted an application for one to Singapore. (pending selection, will only be shortlisted for stage one of 2 middle of june- if he waits for that, all others will be lost)
So now, as the dust settles from his initial excitement, Uzuki realises he is still as confused as when he first started~ there are still three forks in the road and he can only pick one~
Thrilled though he is at the prospect that he might be one day making games, the logical side of Uzuki reasons that where he lives now, the games industry isn't flourishing and can be considered non-existant~ as compared to the States, where big time games companies hire high school students for summer jobs~ (drool~) Faced with these odds, Uzuki cant help but question whether he is not destined to lead a life making games and anime?
And there is also the question of Need against Want~
Uzuki's father feels that he should do something people NEED instead of what people WANT~ for example, if the economy falters, the engineer of computer technician will fare better than the games designer or the manga artist~ I too, am swayed by this reasoning~ In Uzuki's ridiculus mind~ "If World War 3 breaks out tomorrow, who will be in need? The communications engineer or the mangaka? "
I understand that you got to take risks for your dreams..
But I don't think I can decide just as yet.
sigh* ^_^
Other than that, Uzuki also has this to ponder~ his family isn't wealthy, and he's the only child~ So it's not like he can throw caution to the wind and do whatever he wants~ Not that I care what my parents think about games, anime and stuff, but I'm just worried I can't succeed in time.
Ah well~ ^_^
(on side note: Due to these events~ The second issue of Uzuki's experimental manga is to be delayed~ sorry guys~)

Rejoice! Has the solution presented itself?
T_T im practically close to tears now.. I just got off the phone.. Apparently I got an interview with another college~ and its for Games technology! If I take that, i wont have to worry about choosing between the two worlds of art and tech~ T_T YEEESS!!!!!!! This 12th of May, I'll have to go down to Penang for the interview.. which means about next week this time i'll be fighting teeth nail and all in a do-or-die interview for that scholarship! XD yeess!!!!If I clinch it.. aww.. yess~ *_* (having delusions of grandeur and hallucinating)
(OMG now recalling that makoto shinkai started out in the games industry ^_^)
sigh* calm down~ heheh~ XD
alas, Uzuki has lived through countless "ordeals".. is his fortune finally changing for the better? XD hahas~ Anyways... this really is going to be interesting...
On the subject.. I think i got a story here to share.. My additional maths was very poor in form 4. (actually still not that good now anyways.) In fact I never passed once in that year. Due to Uzuki's great fortune, he chanced upon a games (electronic entertainment) exhibition in Australia. After asking around, I found that with the grades I had, I would never be in the games industry~ So, upon returning to M'sia, I worked hard to pull me grades up~ hehe~ alas, I got a B in additional maths~ impressive considering I didn't even pass once the previous year... hahahaz~
so, probably i really owe it to myself to go for this course... XD
anyways.. what do you guys think? What are the chances? Which path will Uzuki take? He's got one scholarship in hand, but he's still going after that one.. ^_^
(aw.. why do shows always end with a cliffhanger? so cliche XD)

To go or not to go~ XD
To go~ Or Not to go~
That.
Is the question~ ^_^
Clueless though he is in matters of love and math~ (both are mind boggling subjects, I assure you~ ) Uzuki is brainy and fortunate enoough to clinch a scholarship in KL~ for electronics and communication engineering~ -_-"
While sitting comfortably in his dads car- (his parents obviously don't trust Uzuki behind the wheel~ probably his parents spied on him playing gran turismo or twised metal.. I dunno...) Uzuki got a phone call from the sponsors of the scholarship.. XD needless to say, I was shocked, but glad.. XD I could barely speak.. heheh~
Now~ If you had paid any attention to the earlier posts, you would know by know that poor Uzuki-kun is an avid anime and manga lover~ so he's now feeling kinda reluctant at this unfortunate time... He does like technical stuff, but he fears he will never make an anime or manga.... sob sob sob~
but, that aside, he's also grateful that his days of being a ronin are numbered~ ^_^ as with this development in the "uzuki goes to college" story arc, sooner or later he will have to take that step into the unknown which is college/uni life~ Uzuki was getting kinda bored rotting away, pounding on his run-down laptop~ ^_^
Another thing about this scholarship... If I take it up, I may not see a friend and a close acquantaince (two people i kinda treasure) before I leave... NoooOOooOoo~
so anyways, thats it for now.. Uzuki has to really figure out where he wants to go, and hopefully keep his brain from being fried from thinking too much.
slams head on keyboard* think positive.. think positive.. wuuu saa.... relax...
That.

No rest for the wicked~ ^_^
They say there's no rest for ze wicked~
so~ if we follow this "formula" here...
Uzuki = Wicked
Wicked = No rest~
Therefore Uzuki= no rest~^_^
But the thing about Uzuki is that he's not being persued by authorities or something like that~ he's not at peace~ he's restless and jumpy~
He's got this load on his mind~ although not the kind like "where's my next meal~", "how do i pay the electricity bill~" and such, he still is bothered by it~ its like a beast closing on him, breathing down on his neck~ He's still debating what path he should take in life.. arts? or Science~
now, Uzuki has always been in love with animanga, and recently he's been watching anime and reading manga like around the clock like a patient on IV~ (due to the chronic boredness which hovers over his head~) And he's stumbled upon a magnificent anime entitled Byosouku 5cm~ (literally: 5cm per second) This anime, if you notice, also graces the top of this blog~ It chronicles the experiences of a close couple inevitably drifting apart over time... thus, the title "5 cm per second".. It actually refers to the speed at which cherry blossoms fall to the ground.. its a sad anology to people who were once close, drifting apart over time~ Its a very beautiful anime.. the visuals are simply stunning~ such a contrast to our kampung / pokok kelapa stuff~ well~ enough of promotion for this genius director Makoto Shinkai~

anyways~ about this anime, why i'm ranting about it is because its so beautiful and I can relate to it because of all the people who have seemingly forgotten about me over time.. And.. Most importantly, it makes me want to make something like that... which brings me back to the main problem poor Uzuki faces~ which path shall he take?
I have a partial scholarship to one of the leading Art/Multimedia colleges here, but I think i dont wanna stay around here. (imitating Agent Smith from The Matrix)
"this stench.. argh.. disgusting I... Need.. To.....Get.. Out..Of.. Here.. *_*"
I also have explored other options~ considered the possibilities~ Uzuki has also applied for Electronics/communication engineering in KL~ the heart of the city~ Well~ he got shortlisted and recently went down for an interview~ and all along the way he's been singing~
(cityscape pulls away to reveal a musical set and Uzuki sings along to 'No Place Like London' from the musical Sweeney Todd: the demon barber of fleet street.. Johnny Depp version)
Uzuki:(sung) I have surfed the web, and seen its wonders...
Went to singapore, but never had been to Peru~
But theres no place like KL~
I dont feel home again~
I have lived here for some time before,But i left here for a village in the north~
so theres no place like KL...i feel like a village Kid... XD
I am young...Life has been kind to me...But i will learn.
There's a whole in the world like a great black pit
and the people of this country inhabit it
I hear the hassle living here isn't worth what a pin can spit
and it goes by the name of KL.
At the top of the hole sit the privilaged few
Making mock of the vermin in the lonely zoo
turning beauty to filth and greed...
I too have surfed the web and seen its wonders, for the craziness of life is as wonderous as Peru
but there's no place like KL!
Ahem* (back to normal~)
anyways~ the weird thing about this was during the interview, the judges( what they calll em anyways) asked me why am I going for engineering when almost everything in my credentials were art related XD~
(this is.. i think is proof i merge engineering and art~)

so~ that kinda got me thinking.. am i not cut out for Science stuff? or did i just not show that side of me to the judges? the results are due abt a week from now, but really im not getting the urge to accept that.. i just read about some girl in my year getting a 7 year JPA scholarship to Japan to study engineering.. T_T lucky her... but i did some research, and apparently there is a University in Japan which has a faculty of manga... sounds perfect for me right? well.. not perfect. All classes are conducted in nihon-go~ Grr... *_* so if i chose that, i have to learn japanese here myself first.. im interested.. but aw...great.. (that means i need to take form 6 while taking japanese classes.. ) sigh~
anyways~ ^_^ watching Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe on the Discovery channel~ (suggested alternate title: Jobs you want to avoid XD ) hopefully i get the drive to avoid those jobs.. heheh~
anyways.. im ending this post with a tribute to a new friend of mine~ ^_^
so~ if we follow this "formula" here...

The introduction~ ^_^
Hi everyone~
This is Uzuki here (lit: april in old japanese, i think.) ^_^ self proffessed otaku, manga artist, and idiot extraordinaire will try to share his life full of meaningless events.
What you need to know about Uzuki?
well~ he's just finished secondary school and now he's effectively a useless idiot. ^_^
He didn't get good results for SPM.
He can't quite let go of the past.
He doesnt work.
He didn't enroll himself in a college or something. yet.
He's kinda like a ronin~ no job, no school, no girlfriend, no nothing.
And he just realised he got addicted to the internet. ^_^ how worse could it get?
Just about the only thing he's good at is abandoning his projects. You could call him the 'king of unfinished dreams' He's got ideas. But never really gets to make them happen 100%.
well. there~ he was lying ^_^ he's good at another thing.. drawing. Well, he's not the next Picasso or the next big manga artist, he's kinda like a amateur. well. Reaaallly amateur.
What does he plan to do?
well. that is the question. ^_^
Uzuki here needs to escape his home before he is bored to death. He needs to be useful. He needs to study. To absorb knowledge like a sponge~ The internets is serving him fairly well at the moment, but sooner or later, he must be weaned of this~ so, he has to decide where to go from here.
He's interested in Animanga, so he's tempted to take the path of the artist.. BUT... He's also interested in technical things like engineering~ so he's stuck in a dilemma?
Do the thing he really wants? or the things he needs to do first, then only break off the beaten path~
Sometimes you wish you could take "The road not taken" without the consequences.
Whats going on in Uzuki's mind?
well~ I'd say, his mind is probably underutilised.. he's watching anime and reading manga.. being berated by his parents and essentially rotting at home typing this on his battered 2nd hand laptop with a battery life of 2 minutes.
In this state~ his mind plays tricks on him~ conjuring images of past events, reflecting on the times he didn't do well enough, or when people treated him unfairly. His mind also wanders to people who seem to have lost contact with him.. people who for some reason stay in his mind though he yearns to relieve himself of that burden~
Uzuki seems loud and cheerful enough outside, but at times, he can't seem to really blend into the crowd~ such situations have made him a bit of an "introvert" in the last years of school life~ he really shut himself out from the hypocrites that he despises~
While he can still mingle with 'the general public"~he still feels lonely at times. (he is, after all, the only child in the family, and he's stuck at home) And it doesn't help that a close acquantaince of his who keeps in contact regularly, keeping Uzuki sane, is now in National Service~ rendering his usually inactive phone completely silent- because no one ever calls Uzuki, unless they need his services~ ^_^
Why he started this blog?
Well~ beyond the more obvious reasons along the lines of: "self promotional material", "thick-skinned-jerk", "shameless-punk", "beh pai seh~", Uzuki plans to rid himself of this ennui that plagues him, for he needs an outlet to vent his frustrations~ leak his creative juices~ and stimulate his senses~ for Uzuki believes he can improve upon his unworthy self by seeing the world and himself in third person~
So for those who've succesfully read through this essay chock full of misinformation, biased commnts, and half truths without feeling nauseous or throwing up~ Thanks, have one on me and cheers! ^_^
