Logic is very troublesome, eh?

The Song of a manga character~

Tis' the story of a person,
who's neither real nor fake~

Born of ink and paper,
in a world coloured with screentones~

Where sounds have shape and colour,
and no solid rules apply~

This is where the plot thickens,
where impossible dreams take flight~

He entertains the masses,
often at the cost of his own misfortune~

At times he shows the courage,
and other traits we desire~

Subject to the whim and fancy,
of a temporary godlike entity~

Nevertheless,
By the end of the season,
He almost always pulls through~

His life span eternal,
long out-lives his creator~

Whose splendid imagination,
gave life to this manga character~

So on lives this person,
doing what he does best~

Making people laugh and cry,
until no one remembers why~

I once wrote this poem, posting it on a forum, griping about how manga characters seem to be tortured for the reader's enjoyment.. well, it seems for poor Uzuki, the tables have turned on the mangaka~

"He entertains the masses,
often at the cost of his own misfortune~" ^_^

so to all readers(actually just about 5 T_T), thanks for reading and posting helpful comments~ be sure to read it with all ur heart as I suffer for it~ XD

(nah~ just kidding~ XD )

Just as he thinks he's found salvation, reality strikes! with vengeance! (quote Michael Machel who played a mean star wars theme in Britains Got Talent- "I will be back, With vengeance!")

Though Uzuki (who is currently hallucinating about making a violent game based on TS and an Eroge with Mompuchi as the main character) has gotten an interview for this most coveted course which goes by the name of Games Technology, he is still not at ease and his mind is as confused as ever~

This is beacause now, all is in his reach, yet, he can only chose one to go 100%!

Uzuki's sticky situation can be summarised as follows-

Remember the phrase- "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush?"

In dear Uzuki's case, he has two in the hand, one a meter from him and one in the bush beyond reach~

He has obtained two scholarships (a full one for engineering and the other partial for art), is going to have an interview for a third (the games tech one) this coming Monday, and has submitted an application for one to Singapore. (pending selection, will only be shortlisted for stage one of 2 middle of june- if he waits for that, all others will be lost)

So now, as the dust settles from his initial excitement, Uzuki realises he is still as confused as when he first started~ there are still three forks in the road and he can only pick one~

Thrilled though he is at the prospect that he might be one day making games, the logical side of Uzuki reasons that where he lives now, the games industry isn't flourishing and can be considered non-existant~ as compared to the States, where big time games companies hire high school students for summer jobs~ (drool~) Faced with these odds, Uzuki cant help but question whether he is not destined to lead a life making games and anime?

And there is also the question of Need against Want~

Uzuki's father feels that he should do something people NEED instead of what people WANT~ for example, if the economy falters, the engineer of computer technician will fare better than the games designer or the manga artist~ I too, am swayed by this reasoning~ In Uzuki's ridiculus mind~ "If World War 3 breaks out tomorrow, who will be in need? The communications engineer or the mangaka? "

I understand that you got to take risks for your dreams..

But I don't think I can decide just as yet.

sigh* ^_^

Other than that, Uzuki also has this to ponder~ his family isn't wealthy, and he's the only child~ So it's not like he can throw caution to the wind and do whatever he wants~ Not that I care what my parents think about games, anime and stuff, but I'm just worried I can't succeed in time.

Ah well~ ^_^

(on side note: Due to these events~ The second issue of Uzuki's experimental manga is to be delayed~ sorry guys~)

Awww! I do remember reading this poem ^.^ It's a nice one :) And congrats on your scholarship. ^.^ and I think you should do something that you want. What the use of doing something you don't like but other people need? Nothing at all. And I wanna read your manga soooooooooooooon! :p

Yup you have a point there..
Game industry is dead here, unless you go somewhere like japan or US it would be a different story...
anyway just believe in yourself and have no regrets in whatever you do....ya-ha
